we have gone through a great deal of
samples of brick and Fond du Lac and Castle rock for this home.this is our latest in test.
the brick closest to the photographer is too
dark. The brick farthest away from the photographer is is close as I think were
going to get.
this is a shot of the brick and they Fond
du Lac for which I think is the best selection.
this is a side view of the construction of
the two products: the Fond du Lac with the good brick or the brick and I'm selecting on
top of the sample Fond du Lac.
and
just a slightly different angle shot
showing the two sample bricks which we've narrowed it down to. The brick on the left
is a little bit too dark, the brick on the right is about his close is I think will ever
get
the homeowner has informed me that there
are not satisfied with the brick that I've selected because the white, or the glazing,
that is applied to the surface of this brick is unsatisfactory. They believe that
the glazing of the brick because it is not interval to the brick itself will eventually
come off.
this sample was just currently laid when I
took this picture so the brick itself and the mortar are still wet and it looks
darker than it actually will look when the mortar and brick has an opportunity to dry out.
the farther away one gets from the sample,
the closer the two materials look in hue, value and color. I think it's important
that for a house of this caliber, that is trying to look like a chateau, that the
materials look as similar in hue value and color as possible.
